The first of Nissan’s hydrogen fuel cell SUVs has hit the road in California thanks to Coca-Cola. Coke has signed a one year lease with Nissan for one of it’s zero-emission SUVs.
The vehicle is based on the current X-Trail as sold here in Australia and with a range of 480km on a tank of hydrogen it should suit Coke’s needs perfectly.
Nissan has already put three hydrogen-fueled X-Trails through nearly half a million kilometres of testing and the new Coke SUV will give Nissan even more data to work with. Nissan expects to have the first hydrogen-fueled vehicles for sale to the general public in the United States by 2015.
