BMW is set to introduce 10 new models across the Series 1 and Series 3 range that will include a number of performance diesel engines. Each one of the new diesel engines will have an average fuel consumption “well under the luxury tax threshold of 7.0L/100km”
Now if you’re thinking that “performance” and “diesel” are two words that really can’t be used in conjunction with each other then maybe the 118d Sports Hatch will change your mind. It returns around 4.5L/100km and yet BMW claims that it will do 0-100km 2 seconds faster than its nearest rival.
