Reports are appearing in the United States that Volvo is about to recall over 136,000 vehicles … almost the entire sale of Volvo vehicles between 2001 and 2005.
The recall is to identify and replace any fuel pump that has developed cracks.
Models to be recalled include:
- 2001-2004 S60
- 2002-2005 S80
- 2001-2004 V70
- 2001-2004 XC70
- 2003-2005 XC90
There’s currently no indication on the Products Safety Recalls Australia website that Volvo intends to recall any of these vehicles in Australia.
You can read more about the US recall of Volvo vehicles on the Kicking Tires website.

Has anyone reported trouble with the Oil Pump (on XC90 – 2005 model) being faulty… leading to engine stop/seize and potentially catastrophic engine damage?
G’day David
This link will take you to a Google search for XC90 oil pump failure.
And this link will take you to one of the sites mentioned on that Google page.
While they’re not discussing your exact problem you might find that you’ll get an answer to your problem from these guys.
