AutoEvolution is reporting that Toyota is seriously considering closing the engine production line at it’s Altona plant in Victoria and moving production to Thailand.
By 2011 the production line will be in need of a major retooling and it may be cheaper to move production of the AZ engine to a more modern plant in Thailand. A decision has yet to be made but Toyota is said to be talking to the Thai government about the possible move.
