Honda has announced that it will be recalling around 646,000 City and Jazz models to replace a potentially dangerous window switch. The recall focuses on vehicles sold in the United States, Europe, South America, South Africa and Asia.
The faulty switch can cause fires and and there are reports that a child died in a car fire that was caused by the problem switch.
There’s nothing appearing yet on the Product Safety Recalls Australia website but it’s interesting to note that Honda hasn’t had to issue a recall notice for any of it’s vehicles sold in Australia since August last year and only had two recalls during 2009 and two in 2008.
Toyota has a similar recall record for the last two years here in Australia.
