Toyota is now beginning the really feel the fall-out from the recall of those millions of vehicles.
Demand for Toyota products in Europe and the United States has fallen to the point where Toyota intends to start closing plants in the United Kingdom and France for a total of 12 days from next Monday. The first plant closure will last for four days and others will follow in the weeks ahead.
Toyota also plans to temporarily close two production plants in the United States so that sales can catch up to the supply.
Here in Australia Toyota is currently offering deals on all vehicles in an effort to boost sales and it will be interesting to see their sales figures for March.
