Volvo has recalled 8,438 of it’s current XC60 SUVs in the United States due to a problem with the driver’s side seat-belt. It seems that in a side impact the seat-belt mounting may come away from the seat frame.
There’s no indication that the recall will spread to Australia where the last SC60 recall was in September for a software problem in the central electronic module.

Does anyone know how Aussi seat belt retaining mechanisms are different to US models……i have been told our SRS is different????????
Anyone know why Aussi models won’t be recalled
G’day Paul
There’s a recent thread about seatbelts on an Australian VW board and you’ll find the thread at:

If I read that thread correctly Australia has its own design rules about seatbelts that are different to those in Europe and the US but I’m not sure whether that’s got anything to do with it or not.
There’s only been five recalls of Volvo vehicles in Australia this year and none of those had anything to do with the seat belts according to recalls.gov.au
