At the beginning of the global financial crisis Holden lost a lucrative export order when the idea of importing Holden Monaros into the US and selling them under the Chevrolet brand was canned.
In the last few weeks … since the release of the Holden Caprice police car … there has been some speculation that the next Chevrolet Impala – a model that hasn’t received a major update since 2005 – may be closely related to the Caprice. But now that speculation is over with the news that the next Impala will be a front-wheel drive vehicle and so will not be sourced from Australia.
Perhaps the Caprice may impress enough people for it to be used as the basis for a future vehicle from GM.
