We tend to be a little bit blinkered when it comes to the sale of new cars but when you take a look at worldwide sales figures for various brands the numbers can be breathtaking.
Toyota’s sales figures for the period 1 January 2009 to 30 November 2009 will show you what we mean.
In Japan Toyota sold 1,256,000 vehicles
In America Toyota sold 1,770,000 vehicles.
In Asia Toyota sold 1,354,000 vehicles (622,000 of those sales were in China)
Total that and you get 4,380,000 vehicles in just the United States and Asia during a time of recession.
