A leading motoring body in Japan announced today that the Toyota Prius was the top selling car in Japan for 2009. This is the first time that a hybrid has achieved the top spot.
Toyota sold 208,876 Prius models in 2009 … a figure that’s well above the number of Prius models sold the year before.
While hybrid models may be on the minds of car buyers in Japan no other hybrid made the top three as the Honda Fit and Toyota Vitz took out the second and third spots.
