Despite its relatively hefty price tag the Nissan Murano is proving to be a rather popular vehicle for those who want something extra in the medium SUV market and we’re currently seeing the second generation Murano in the showrooms.
Come September the current model will make way for the new Nissan Murano and we can to see a few changes to the Murano model we’re currently seeing.
On the outside the new Nissan Murano has a new grille along with a new design for the front bumper and headlamps. The design of the taillights has also been changed, rear privacy glass has been added and there’s a new roof rail design as well.
The new Nissan Murano will continue to be available in two models. The base model ST will be available at around $47,990 and for that price you’ll get rain sensing wipers, a Bose audio system with 2 gig of storage and a 7 inch color display. The ST also comes with a reversing camera and heated front seats.
The top of the range Ti is priced at $58,390 and features a new sat/nav system, 9 gig of storage and iPod connectivity.
Engine and transmission
Nissan will continue with their 191kW V6 petrol engine but in the new Murano it will be mated to Nissan’s Xtronic Continuously Variable Transmission and that combination will return 10.9L/100km.
So if the Nissan Murano is the SUV that does it for you then you only have to wait a few more months for it to hit showroom floors.
