Toyota has agreed to end a contract that has been in place since 1991 that saw Toyota act as the Japanese distributor for Volkswagen.
Volkswagen believes that it will make better economic sense if it acts as its own distributor through Volkswagen Group Japan. VGJ will have 250 dealers throughout the country and that’s the largest importer network in Japan.
The agreement with Toyota will finish at the end of 2010.
